After reading reviews I purchased this product for use with my Canon SD890 IS. All I can say is don't waste your money.

"It works, it's cheap, what more do you want?" 2009-05-05
By S. Gebke (IL USA)
I was somewhat skeptical when I first saw this "ziploc bag" for my camera (SD1100). The price was right though so I took the leap of faith. I only snorkel once or twice a year so I wasn't going to spend $150 or a professional case. This thing worked flawlessly. I didn't use the zoom but I really felt I didn't need it. Usually the water isn't clear enough to zoom in on anything anyway and you'll run out of light as well the farther you zoom. Sure it's not for professionals, it's for the average snorkeler....

 "Frustrated Snorkeler" 2009-04-08
By R. L. Crain (Tucson, AZ USA)
After reading some encouraging reviews I ordered the waterproof case for my digital camera. Following the tips from those reviews I used rolled pieces of soft cloth to help the camera "fit" inside the bag, tested it at home in a sink of water to make sure it was waterproof (it IS) and practiced taking pictures around the house. All fine and good. However, when snorkeling it was difficult to press the camera buttons through the plastic case; but the most frustrating part was how the plastic case would "stick" to the camera, causing glare that made it almost impossible to "see" where you were aiming. It would have been better to just pick up a disposable underwater camera (which I had used successfully the previous month on a whale watching trip in Mexico). At least I would have some decent photos of the colorful fish & coral to remember from our Caribbean vacation. I would NOT recommend this produt.

 "Watertight, but loose" 2009-03-25
By T. Hsu (Boston, MA)
Just took this down to the Virgin Islands with my Canon SD1100 IS. As other reviewers have noted, the case is quite large for the typical compact camera. It worked extremely well for keeping the sand and water out, and I dove down about 10 meters on multiple occasions, without any signs of moisture in the bag. Because the bag was so loose around the camera, it was actually pretty easy to manipulate the controls on the camera, such as switching between record and play. Zooming in and out on the toggle switch was a bit harder, but doable. The optical quality of the acrylic lens was pretty good, with no signs of distortion in my images.

Now for the negatives. Again, because of the size of the bag, the camera moved pretty freely within the bag. This often resulted in the camera lens catching the shadow of the O-ring, unless you forcefully held the camera centered in place in the bag, and pray that your hands don't move. I did try once to use tissue paper to wedge the camera in place, but that only resulted in a mess of paper fibers clinging to the camera and the bag from the static. Not fun to clean up. Again, the best thing to do is quickly flip over the camera before you take any shot, and make sure that the lens is centered. It was also quite easy to get lotion smeared across the acrylic lens, since there is no protective cover. Somewhat hard to clean off easily at the beach. Using the viewfinder or the camera lcd screen is near impossible underwater, due to the internal reflection of the water/plastic interface, so you have to get pretty good at aiming in the general direction of your shot.

Overall, despite the difficulty of getting it working correctly, I ended up with some amazing underwater photos and videos, which entirely justified the purchase. Considering that a dedicated underwater hard case for the camera costs around $200, this was a bargain. I would definitely recommend this to my friends, as well as to the recreational photographer.

"Good Seal, Not a Perfect Fit" 2009-03-19
By A. Patterson (Colorado)
This was purchased for use with my Canon PowerShot SD 790is. After a few tests, it is clear that the case is well constructed and will keep water and sand out. However, my camera had to be adjusted within the case for each shot. Not terribly convenient, but worth it to me.
